The Sky's The Limit

Are you looking for a break into radio, without having to make the tea... and without needing a string of qualifications as long as your arm?

Did you know that many broadcasters on radio and TV (including the likes of Jamie Theakston, GMTV's Fiona Phillips, Capital FM's News anchor Matt Schofield, Bloomberg Newsreader Kat Hutchins and more) started their broadcasting careers as radio travel reporters!

travel presenting evening course

Traffic reporting, telling the motorist where the hold-ups are can be a good and extremely fun first step into broadcasting, without the need for formal journalism qualifications.

Fidelma has been Manager of ITN Travel News and was previously a supervisor, information officer and broadcaster for AA Roadwatch.

She is well-known and well-respected within the traffic news industry.

And the Academy's Head of News and Current Affairs, Michael Watkins, began his professional broadcasting career as an AA Traffic reporter.

Many of those currently working as traffic reporters, have been trained directly by either Fidelma or Michael.
